On Silence : Ink Scrawl Nugget 29

There was a desert prairie filled with wind and sun and sagebrush and a silence that grew sweetly up in wildflowers. There was a rail track laid across this silence and now the rail track shuddered.

These are the best opening lines of a story that I have come across in sometime. Very evocative and beautiful imagery. Somewhere a Band is Playing is a novella by Ray Bradbury. You can read it in the book: Now and Forever.
