People still remember because it was never worse than good, and was often simply brilliant.
The Washington Post pays a tribute, The Tiger Strikes Again, to Bill Watterson and that lovely comic strip of his, Calvin and Hobbes, on the publishing of "The Complete Calvin and Hobbes," a 1,456-page art-book epic of every panel ever published.
