Tank Blogging

Hindi movie heroes standing on top of a village water tank and ranting about all things that bugged them -- from the evil gaon ka thakur to the recalcitrant parents and relatives of the beloved.

Such scenes make Sagnik Nandy wonder if the village tank was the blog of the 1980s.

Everyday people would get up on the tank and shout out views and thoughts. Villagers would have their blogrolls.
