The Omnificent English Dictionary In Limerick Form (OEDILF)

The OEDILF is an online Limerictionary, a dictionary where the definitions are given in the form of limericks. One can search, or browse the limericks by topic or author, or browse the dictionary alphabetically. The dictionary has just started as an international writing project and currently people are working on words beginning with aa- through ba-. The dictionary, presently, has over 5500 approved limericks in the database.

Here's a sample limerick:

a la carte
On the menu you find even rice
Has its own individual price.
When the food's à la carte,
Pay attention, be smart.
The basmati's expensive but nice.
by Chris Doyle
(limericks are the property of their owners)

Visit the OEDILF for more Limericks. And maybe contribute a verse of your own.
