Bringing Math Into Writing

One of the things that you'll notice about the blogging phenomenon is the number of "non-writers" writing.

Usually you would think that it is only the literature graduates, journalists and other people of the same ilk who would be blogging. But if I am right, techies outnumber the "writers" in the blogging world. I was introduced to blogging by a techie. Blogging, by its very nature, has allowed virtually anybody who has an access to the net and something to say, to become a writer.

What'll be the impact of these "non-writers" on the written language? Will we see more deviations from the "correct" standard of language?

Stephen Baker of blogspotting raises the same question in How the blogs bring math into journalism. For various interesting views read the comments.
