Public Weight-Loss Campaign and the Coming of "Reality Blogs."

The Atlanta Journal and Constitution has launched a very public weight-loss campaign -- five determined people are attempting to lose weight and get in shape and they are blogging about it. People can follow their progress and read about their efforts as they try to shed a few unwanted pounds. And they can give them encourage and advice them through their blogs.

Is this the start of a phenomenon similar to reality TV? The Internet has thrown up similar things before but this is the first time that I have come across an attempt at a (for the want of a better term) "reality blog." With a blog being very easy (and often free) to set up, will it be long before others get on to the bandwagon? We might soon see participants of Miss World and Miss Universe (Fear Factor, Indian Idol, American Idol...) blogging about their experiences through the event. How soon before reality TV adds this feature to their shows?
